It was our first stay in this hotel and the experience exceeded our expectations. The hotel is perfectly situated in the old town, allowing to access all the sights and shopping centers very easily. The reception was undoubtedly one of the best we have ever experienced: very polite, welcoming and helpful, explained everything needed in detail making us feel very welcome in the hotel. The room was spacious and the beds very comfortable. Although located in the old town, it was absolutely quiet during the night allowing to have a relaxed evening. Breakfast was also rich with nice variety of different options for every taste.

The location is perfect for city exploring the city of Riga. The rooms are comfortable with excellent service and double windows for noise protection by night while you are within the touristic area of the old town. Air condition is available if you like. The hotel staff is very friendly. We had excellent breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. At the end, after 3 days, we are very satisfied with our short trip to Riga. /Tripadvisor/

Perfect hotel, located in Riga’s old town

Our stay at the Radi un Draugi,in Riga was perfect with no complaints at all.The hotel is well located within Riga’s old town, and it is possible to walk around the area and see nearly all the places of interest.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, breakfast is continental with a very good choice, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the hotel has a relaxing atmosphere.

They communicated quickly when I asked questions and offer a pick up service to and from Riga airport for €17 each way.

The Radi un Draugi also has a restaurant open in the evenings,in the same place as breakfast. We had no complaints what so ever with the Radi un Draugi.

The starting point of the red Hop on Hop off bus tours is only a five minute walk from the hotel, tours start at 10am and take you over the bridges to the other side of the river Daugava to places like Victory Park, then back around the beautiful Art Nouveau district with its fantastic art nouveau buildings,Kronvalda parks,Wohrmann parks, past the National Opera House and National Theatre, the huge Central Market and many more.

Opposite the Radi un Draugi is a delightful Belgian cafe bar,the Bon Vivant, with very nice food and a large selection of Belgian beers in bottles and draught.

We booked tickets in advance for the ballet at the amazing National Opera House. If you don’t,try calling in at the ticket office when you are there, sometimes they have spare tickets.

Riga’s old town has many cobbled streets with cafes, restaurants and bars almost everywhere.

There are many churches to visit,St Johns offers a fantastic view of the city from the steeple, the National shrine that is the Freedom Monument is near the National Opera House. The House of the Blackheads,Dome Cathedral,Three Brothers houses,Riga Castle,Powder Tower,Swedish Gate,Liv Square,Cat House and a piece of the Berlin Wall in Krinvald Park,at the north side, alongside Elizabetes street are just some of the things to see.

South of the old town, and a short walk from the hotel,is the Central Market, housed in and around four old hangers from WW1.You can buy many different foods and souviners here. The Moscow district is also there, with a great view from the top of the huge Stalin building similar to Moscow’s Stalin’s seven sisters.

Radi un Draugi is a cozy hotel located in the old town with a short distance to all major sights of the old town. The rooms are clean and neat with both TV, kettle and hard dryer for those who need these things. There is a lift to the rooms and access via a wide and easily accessible staircase. Breakfast taken in the hotel - reportedly - excellent restaurant (has even enjoyed breakfast there) Niklavs. The breakfast buffet is well assorted, although the bread is a sad treat when you have seen what the bakeries can deliver. Conclusion: A good and well-located hotel in terms of price. Can definitely be recommended./Tripadvisor/
